Job Overview:

The Retail Sales National Account Manager is a pivotal role responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market presence across both the US and UK/EU regions, you will be responsible for all retail sales. This dynamic position requires a proactive, results-oriented professional with a deep understanding of market dynamics in both regions. The role involves securing and managing strategic partnerships, collaborating with key customers such as Sprouts, MOM’s, Wegmans, HEB, Whole Foods UK, Holland & Barrett UK, and Holland & Barrett Netherlands, and identifying new opportunities for business development.

Location: remote (NYC or California preferred) 
Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Market Expansion:
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for market expansion in the US, UK, and EU.
    • Collaborate with existing partners and explore new partnerships to drive growth.
    • Focus on opportunities in growth for the clean, natural & beauty retailers
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
    • Fully understand the P&L of each retailer and weigh in on opportunities for improvement and negotiation.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to refine strategies and tactics.
  • Retailer Engagement:
    • Build and maintain extremely strong relationships with key retailers, including Sprouts, MOM’s, Wegmans, HEB, Whole Foods UK, Holland & Barrett UK, and Holland & Barrett Netherlands. Will include travel to these retailers.
    • Represent the company in negotiations and discussions with retail partners, finding ways to improve sales, profit & cashflow for Ethique through strategic negotiation and win-win partnership practices.
  • Sales and Marketing:
    • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to drive product awareness and sales in both regions.
    • Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling campaigns tailored to each market.
  • New Distribution Channels:
    • Identify and explore new distribution channels to increase product visibility in the US, UK, and EU.
    • Evaluate potential collaborations with retailers such as Wholefoods US, Gelsons, INFRA, NCG, Waitrose, Albert Heijn-Netherlands, and others.
    • Evaluate potential collaborations with beauty retailers in US & CAN.
  • Market Research and Analysis:
    • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
    • Conduct regular market research to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Trade Marketing:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective trade marketing strategies.
    • Execute initiatives aimed at increasing customer awareness and driving customer acquisition.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in business development, sales, trade or related fields.
  • Experience managing accounts, including the business aspects of each – terms,
  • In-depth knowledge of US, UK, and EU market intricacies.
  • Must have established relationships with key retailers in the 2024 business plan, including Sprouts, MOM’s, Wegmans, HEB, Whole Foods UK, Holland & Barrett UK, and Holland & Barrett Netherlands.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Results-driven mindset with a commitment to surpassing targets.
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and analytics abilities.
  • Experience in initiating and leading client meetings, contract negotiations, and deal closures.
  • Ability to contribute insights and recommendations to enhance business development processes.
  • Collaborative approach in working with cross-functional teams to ensure client satisfaction and success.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and customer portals for analytics and reporting purposes.
