Our client near Poughkeepsie, NY is looking for a Real Estate Paralegal to join their team. The Paralegal will be responsible for providing a range of legal support and administration to lawyers and other legal professionals.

Job duties include:

• Drafting cover letters and document preparation
• Drafting and writing reports and legal documents
• Filing motions about cases
• Researching laws and judicial decisions about current as well as past cases
• Keeping case files confidential and organized
• Assisting lawyers prepare for court with all administrative needs

The Paralegal must have:

• At least 2 years of experience in the legal field, specifically with Real Estate, Landlord and Municipal practice experience
• Understanding of legal procedures, protocols and the court system
• Thorough knowledge of legal terminology
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Proficiency with computers and computer programs such as MS Word and Excel
• Ability to proactively work alone and well under pressure

Our client is looking for someone who can come in full time and make a great addition to their team. You must maintain the utmost level of professionalism and confidentiality in this role as it deals with highly sensitive information. Pay rate will be $20-$25 per hour. Candidates should be self-starters who are hardworking and willing to learn.
