Our medical center is seeking an experienced Authorization Representative to join our team in Poughkeepsie, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining insurance authorizations for medical procedures and services, verifying patient benefits, and communicating with insurance companies to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement.
Employment Type: Temporary with the possibility to go permanent
Pay Range: $18 - $19 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm
Authorization Representative Qualifications:

• Previous insurance or medical admin experience required
• Strong understanding of insurance policies and authorizations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred

Authorization Representative Responsibilities:

• Obtain insurance authorizations for medical procedures and services
• Verify patient benefits and eligibility
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues or discrepancies
• Maintain accurate records of patient insurance information and authorization status
• Work closely with medical staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of authorizations
• Keep up-to-date on insurance regulations and policies
