Essex Westford School District (EWSD) has an opportunity for a JVA/JVB Girls Volleyball Coach at Essex High School for their upcoming season. This position also acts as a sub for the Varsity girl's team. The position pays a stipend for the season.
All coaches must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate at the commencement of the sports season for which the person has been appointed to coach. Candidates must also meet the certification and training requirements of the VPA, which requires certification in Sports First Aid and Fundamentals in Coaching within one year of hire. Acceptable certifications include ASEP (American Sport Education Program) certification or NFHS (National Federation of High Schools). The VPA also requires coaches to complete the NFHS elective courses entitled, "CONCUSSION IN SPORTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW." and "IMPLICIT BIAS". These are online courses that can be found at www.nfhslearn.com, and are free of charge. All coaches must complete these 20-30 minute courses before they begin coaching.
