Connect and Restore Program Coordinator

( NonExempt)

ESSDACK, a student-centered, trauma-informed educational service center, is seeking the right person to support our ESSDACK Connect and ESSDACK Restore programs.

ESSDACK Connect is designed for local homeschool families and/or local students seeking engaging, interactive, and rigorous coursework delivered in a virtual model. This experience is geared toward post-secondary success and college prep. The Connect-Restore coach must be able to support high-quality, experiential, relationship-rich, and achievement-driven virtual education experience for learners and actively build and maintain a school and home partnership for increased success.

The ESSDACK Restore program is designed specifically to assist Kansas middle and high school students who have been expelled or who are currently serving a long-term suspension. The Connect-Restore coach is committed to a restorative program designed to ensure the completion of academic graduation requirements while also focusing on essential social and emotional skills.

Key Tasks:

  • Attend all trainings/meetings established by Connect Director
  • Support with new student orientation and enrollment to ESSDACK Connect
  • Clerical, answering phones, filling as well as other requests made by the director.
  • Maintain accurate records and data related to the ESSDACK Connect program for evaluation and improvement purposes.
  • Student Support, including academic, navigating software (Edmentum & Acellus) and grading.
  • Helping to coordinate state testing with ESSDACK Connect Districts.
  • Facilitate the smooth onboarding process for students and families entering the ESSDACK Restore program.
  • Maintain open communication with Learning Center Directors regarding incoming students and their progress.
  • Organize and lead Restorative Circles involving schools, learning centers, students, and caregivers.
  • Regularly provide progress reports to district administrators and counselors, highlighting student achievements and areas of growth.
  • Maintain accurate records and data related to the ESSDACK Restore program for evaluation and improvement purposes.
  • Contribute individual actions to organizational or team goals.

Additional Duties and Expectations:

  • Maintain and build relationships with students.
  • Communicate with students on multiple platforms.
  • Check in with students daily/weekly if they need more support.
  • Daily student check in on Zoom.
  • Guide students through the Building Neuro-Resilience Curriculum, fostering resilience and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with students and families to identify and access external support services beyond the school environment.
  • Facilitate the process of repairing harm within the school community through restorative practices.
  • Assist students in preparing for reintegration circles, ensuring a smooth transition back to their school setting.
  • Lead and follow up on reintegration circles, fostering dialogue and resolution among all stakeholders.
  • Conduct daily check-ins with students not present in a learning center environment, offering ongoing support and guidance.
  • Some in-state travel required.
  • Contribute to the success of the organization by cooperatively interacting with other staff, meeting established deadlines, and voluntarily offering talents and expertise for the good of the organization.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working with learners and marginalized population
  • Warmth and relational
  • Ability to work effectively with a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient with computers
  • Familiar with Google Suites
  • Willingness to learn to navigate curriculum delivery systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Frequently required to move about inside and outside school and office locations.
  • Occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 40 pounds.

Nonexempt

KPERS Covered Position

Hybrid Position with some in-state travel required.

10 Month position August-May

The daily schedule could vary based on student needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
