Building-Based Substitute Teachers

Are you ready to make an impact on education? A building-based substitute teaching or building-based assistant position may be the opportunity you're looking for!

As an ESS building-based substitute teacher, you'll report to a designated school location every morning that school is in session, and the secretary will direct you to an open position for the day. You will work in many different classrooms within your assigned school, amplifying your teaching expertise while maximizing the learning experience for students!

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate or Bachelor's Degree
• Pennsylvania State Criminal History Clearance (Act 34)
• Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
• Federal Criminal History Clearance (Act 24)
• School Health Form with Tuberculosis test reflecting negative results
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification
• Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training - Act 126
• Youth Suicide Awareness Prevention and Child Awareness Training - Act 71
• Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Awareness training - Policy 252
