Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Engineer, Software is responsible for creating and maintaining scripts, web applications, and NetSuite customizations to support Esquire business operations and service delivery.

JOB DUTIES:

• Produce well formatted, efficient, and thoroughly tested code.
• Collaborate with Development team members in code review, design, and planning sessions.
• Work with product owners and other stakeholders to understand application usage and project/task requirements.
• Document application features and relevant aspects of code and system design.
• Proactively identify potential application issues.
• Work with Development team members to continuously improve the development process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES:

• Skill writing client and server-side (Node.js) JavaScript.
• Ability and skill writing unit tests with jest or other frameworks.
• Knowledge of the concepts of object-oriented and/or functional programming styles.
• Knowledge of and skill employing secure coding practices.
• Skill using the command line.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• 3 years working with client or server-side (Node.js) JavaScript.
• Recent experience developing applications in a team environment.
• Recent experience creating or maintaining complex applications.
• Experience with UI testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or TestComplete preferred.
• Experience with AWS products preferred.
• Experience with PHP preferred.
