Espy Lumber is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Ridgeland, SC

Core Job Duties:

  • Generate, review, and audit payroll for accuracy before processing
  • Maintain Payroll database and files related to payroll
  • Process special payments such as employee advances, PTO payout, payroll corrections, etc. and report required information to Controller 
  • Setup payroll deductions for benefits within ADP based on employee elections, waiting periods, and transmit funds to benefit providers such as Cigna, Principal, Guardian, etc.
  • Process accurate employee data including, additional earnings, employee time and attendance data.
  • Keep current on wage and hour laws and ensure payroll procedures meet all guidelines and federal and state requirements.
  • Conduct monthly audit of employee benefit status, including payment of insurance premiums and payments.
  • Identify and highlight payroll or accounting discrepancies and ensure that they are resolved in a prompt manner
  • Accounting duties:
    • Prepare employee productivity reports
    • Populate MS Excel templates with required payroll information to assist with getting financials submitted into QuickBooks
    • Calculate monthly payments for commission and bonus payments
    • Assist the Controller with special reports requested by management team or auditors

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
  • 3 years of ADP payroll processing experience
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Superior time management and analytical skills
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills a must
  • Must be dependable, possess advanced problem-solving skills, be detail oriented and have exceptional proofreading skills to verify accuracy of numbers
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, management team members and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and prioritize work as necessary.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Team Player. Willingness to assist other team members when needed.
  • Above average PC skills: Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting/ERP systems. Experience with Accounting Seed a plus
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus
