EspressoTech Service Company (ETSC) is one of the nations largest independently owned Specialty Coffee Equipment Service organizations. Since our beginning in 1996, we have grown from a single tech/owner in one city to an expansion into 11 states servicing 1000's of customers both large and small. Many of our customers have been with us for over 20 years, so we hope that shows we are doing something right!

We currently have a job opening that we would like to have filled by a candidate that this job could prove to be a good fit for.

The job and requirements consist of the following:

* Must be at least 21 years old

* Must be self motivated and work with limited supervision (though an abundance of tech support is always readily available to you).

* Must have strong mechanical aptitude and posses some common sense approach to basic trouble-shooting.

* Be able to safely lift 80lbs.

* Need to have excellent communication skills, be an outstanding listener and take notes.

* Have a good clean driving record

* Be able to drive long and high mile day trips throughout the State in order to service customers, and be able to stay overnight occasionally.

* Ideally you would have some coffee related experience like Barista, Roaster, Trainer or Technician.

* You need to be a person that does not take shortcuts, will do what it takes to resolve an issue, even if a temporary fix, and takes pride in the work you do.

* You can present yourself in a Corporate Type environment and be generally neat in appearance and organized while on the job site.

* You possess excellent customer service skills, to the point the customers may request "you" to service their equipment because of the relationship you have developed with them.

In addition to basic job requirements, listed here are things we DO NOT NEED:

* We do not need anyone who is perfectly fine walking away from a job that perhaps cannot be fixed and not feel frustrated or have empathy for the client, and not want to return right away to resolve the issue to get the customer back up and running.

* We do not need anyone who embellishes their ability and then refuses to take advice or learn how to improve on service work.

* We do not need "parts changers" type technicians.

* We do not need any technicians who do not take account ownership of each call and are happy to dump the call to another tech because they are unwilling to work through an issue and figure it out and learn from it.

* We do not need any negative minded individuals or individuals who cannot separate work and personal life.

* Utilize the Dept of Labor FLEX-PAY that allows weekly pay of 40hrs even if there is not 40hrs worth of work (this is NOT a Salary position, but guaranteed at least 40hrs each week).

This job is not for everyone, you must enjoy:

* Working by yourself, managing yourself and not working in a shop or office environment

* Driving a lot of miles and listening to Books on "tape" or PodCast such as "Crime Stories" (my favorite).

* Not necessarily knowing what your day will look like each day, and that by 10am the whole day could change from what you envisioned.

* Being able to change direction on the fly based on customer need.
