Job Description

Misfits is jumping headfirst into game development as the company reaches new heights of interactive entertainment! As an Associate Level Game Designer, you will design and build environments for one of the new superstar teams at Misfits. We have multiple talented and motivated teams designing Roblox experiences that would benefit from adding high-quality level design to their creations. With multiple games already in production, we are setting sights far beyond these platforms and looking forward to expanding our teams with a talented Associate Level Designer to help us generate fun for years to come.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the creative team to conceptualize and design levels for video games
• Develop level layouts, environments, 3D objects, and gameplay mechanics in the Roblox editor.
• Create levels that are visually appealing, elevate game mechanics, and are challenging yet fun to play
• Test and refine levels to ensure they meet high-quality standards and player satisfaction
• Work closely with artists, programmers, and other designers to ensure that design elements and features are implemented at quality.
• Iterate on designs based on internal/external playtests, game metrics, team input, and community feedback
• Actively participate in design and development meetings, providing constructive feedback and suggestions
• Continuously learn and seek guidance on the design craft

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Roblox game builder
• Experience designing and constructing levels for video games
• Proficient in developing for the Roblox and Fortnite markets
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Solid team communication skills
• Bonus if you have a degree in game design or related field
• Passion for playing and creating cutting edge video games

This is currently a full-time remote position. Must be able to relocate to either Seattle, WA, or Boca Raton, FL, in Q4 2024.
