Job Description

Job Purpose:

Provides support and expertise at a high level to IT Director. Project management and departmental oversight to the entire Espanola Public School District inclusive of IT Infrastructure, Budget, Program(s), Communication(s), Compliance, Organization, coordinates with Contractors/Vendors/Consultant/ Offerors Providers & current funded allocations via other sources the Technology through Network & Communication; and reports to the Technology Director. Provides detailed oriented information for the entire Technology department. Special Projects/ Reports/Technical Grants/ Renewals /Schedules/ Timelines/ Licensing / Technical Operations /Management/ Life Cycles/Compliance/ Forecasting Future Growth.

Duties:

· Assist with Technology components and assessments / Implementation to include hardware, software, renewals, upgrades, forecast planning, Infrastructure project upgrades/EPS needs to maintain and improve all areas of Information Technology

· Assist with Departmental Management areas to include Network Reports / Project Reports / Grant Reports and Compliance component with best procurement practices.

· Backup to IT Director in the event assistance is needed to- Facilitate with EPS Technology Committee / Board Meetings.

· Assisting with Management of Overall Network / Schedules / Projects / Milestones/ Cross training/ Daily Operations.

· Assist with Implementation and alignment of Curriculum initiatives through technology platforms and adopted short and long term goals- Districtwide

· Assist in Creating Technical Procedures / Policies establish and maintain software and hardware standards assist with lifecycles and technology projections to align with Board Goals and Advancement of EPS District.

· Maintain the Districts local and Wide Area Networks, support the configuration towards network growth and the integration of external / Internal systems. Improve current scenarios with budget as a forefront.

· Assists with Management of network system access, security and availability per District needs.

· Assist IT Director to Coordinate with Contractors/ Vendors / Consultants/ Offeror/ Providers. Identify and or correct problems, develop solutions and implementation of new product(s) and services for District.

· Manage workstation production and network upgrades on hardware and software(s), install(s), support and maintain technical workstations and telecommunication systems for maximum efficiency.

· Assist with Monitoring network system operations and maintain Local and Wide Area networks to ensure maximum efficiency; maintain uptime of critical operating system software(s) application(s) timeline(s).

· Assist with ERATE EPC initiatives – USAC compliance to oversee program on Category 1 and Category 2 – Critical Mandated Application deadline(s). Form 470 Form 471 Form 498s BEAR/SPI billing time sensitive filing windows for program integrity and assurance.

· Assist with Management of Technology Operations Inventory/ Lifecycle Plans – Forecasting -Future Projections. Budget timelines and guidelines.

· Managerial and Operational knowledge of networking and desktop systems, applications, and storage.

· Methods and techniques of LAN and WAN design and configuration / implementation.

· Techniques used in the installation, integration, configuration and troubleshooting of network and work station operating systems and applications.

· Implement and adhere to Characteristics of various microcomputer applications throughout District to include IEEE Architecture and 802.11 technologies.

· Provides Input and Knowledge in various software applications and system requirements

· Provides Principal and practices of computerized record keeping / Inventory best practices – Proper Asset Disposal(s) and safe practices for Recycling and anti-donation clauses / rules and regulations of the District.

· Assists with pertinent Federal, State and Local codes, laws and regulations for compliance
