ESP Associates is Hiring a Geotechnical Engineer Near Fort Mill, SC

ESP Associates, Inc. has an opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our transportation team. With employees and offices spread throughout the Southeast (and beyond), this role has flexibility to work from several ESP locations, including South Charlotte (Fort Mill – ESP’s corporate HQ) or Raleigh, NC. ESP’s Geotechnical Engineering Services Include:

  • Subsurface investigations
  • Laboratory testing
  • Seismic analyses
  • Embankment settlement and stability analyses
  • Reinforced earth structure analyses and design
  • Structure foundation analyses and design
  • Ground improvement analyses and design
  • Report preparation
  • Foundation load testing
  • Vibration monitoring

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute field exploration and laboratory testing programs
  • Perform engineering analyses, geotechnical design, write technical reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT required
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience in transportation projects
  • Displays strong technical skills in soil mechanics and geotechnical analyses and design 
  • Must possess intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office and relevant technical software required, gINT and MicroStation are preferred), including the ability to learn various types of company/client software 
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy 

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering
  • PE licensure
  • Experience with NCDOT and/or SCDOT
