Position Summary:

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides direct patient care and support activities, which build and maintain an Eskaton Rehab Services Center of Excellence. Aids in the restoration and enhancement of independent function in those individuals whose independent living status has been compromised by illness and/or injury.

The salary for this on-call position is $52.00/hour on weekdays and $63.00/hour on weekends. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Provides patient evaluations and sets appropriate goals and treatment plans which meet patient needs and uses current knowledge in accordance with Eskaton Rehab Services clinical procedures.
  • Provides patient evaluation and treatments, which meet patient needs, and uses current treatment knowledge in accordance with Eskaton Rehab Services clinical procedures.
  • Writes accurate, complete, and clear documentation in accordance with Eskaton Rehab Services, regulatory, licensing, payor, and accrediting requirements.
  • Consistently demonstrates Eskaton Rehab Services interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Contributes to professional development of self and others.
  • Aids in building and maintaining Eskaton Rehab Services’ reputation as a Rehab Center of Excellence by contribution as a professional member of staff.
  • Communicates effectively with discharge planners, families and caregivers prior to patient discharge from community..
  • Interacts with peer therapists at local acute hospitals and other environments, if appropriate.
  • Maintains professional development in areas of clinical expertise through continuing education seminars, professional journals, and peers.

Qualifications

Education:MA/MS Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Current CPR certification preferred. Successful completion of a certification process and California license as required by state and community regulations. Needs of community may require that a Speech-Language Pathology has a current state driver’s license.

Training and Experience:Some experience in a skilled nursing community rehab environment or equivalent preferred.

Job Knowledge:Must have an understanding of the principles employed in Speech-Language Pathology. Must have skills in Speech-Language Pathology evaluation and treatment planning and techniques. Knowledge of pertinent medical terminology. Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, COVID test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
