Position: Talent Acquisition & Finance Intern

Location: Bryn Mawr, PA

Position Summary:

In this role, referred to ESF as Talent Operations & Finance Intern will provide support to ESF's Talent Operations Team and Finance Team. The Intern is responsible for providing our Talent Operations team support in the areas of recruiting, hiring, onboarding and background checking. They may at times also provide our Finance Team support in the areas of payroll management.

Location:

  • ESF Headquarters, Bryn Mawr, PA
  • In-person mainly. Limited, occasional hybrid work is possible.

Hours & Compensation:

  • This is a 5-6 month paid internship opportunity. Options:
  • January/February through June/July OR April/May through August/September
  • There is allowance for scheduling based on school year start and end dates.
  • There may be an option to work beyond these dates based on staffing needs.
  • Weekly schedule: typically, 30-40 hours/week, consisting of 3-5 weekdays, with occasional evening/weekend events.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote ESF Summer Camps, BOLD pre-college programs, and our Pro Team Sports camps to prospective and returning candidates over the phone, via email and in-person.
  • Support sourcing efforts to find new candidates and increase candidate pool for various positions including: counselors, coaches, aquatics staff, teachers, and medical staff.
  • Interface with prospective candidates, answer questions as a credible resource, promoting ESF's team member value proposition.
  • Interact with returning team members, assisting them with re-hire and onboarding.
  • Support summer payroll efforts as needed by Finance Team
  • Participate in the execution of sourcing campaigns to schools, colleges/universities and other organizations.
  • Assist with various hiring and onboarding requirements, including reference checking, tracking background checks, I-9 forms, staff health forms, clearances and other requirements.
  • Prepare for and attend events including, career fairs, trainings and other related events
  • Run, edit and update various hiring and financial reports.
  • Conduct various types of research as needed for Talent Operations team.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss best practices and improvement opportunities.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be an undergraduate student at a minimum, with experience in human resources and finance. Key examples include staff recruiting, background checking, staff onboarding, and payroll.
  • Related experience in customer service/sales in a heavy phone and email environment will also be considered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed time management skills and able to complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve in an office setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
  • The ability to be flexible and handle unpredictable situations with ease.
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow-through.
  • Flexible, reliable, and pro-active.
  • Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (or similar databases) preferred
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Excel is a plus.

Reporting Relationship

  • Reports directly to the Recruiting Director and takes direction from Regional Directors. During summer months, this reporting relationship will include the Director of Payroll & HR.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires considerable time spent working in person on a computer and speaking to candidates and other recruiting contacts over the phone.
  • Weekend hours may be required, but total number of allowed hours won't be exceeded weekly.
  • Some local travel and occasional distance travel to events and ESF camp locations.
