Enstall is seeking a Sr. Testing and Certification Engineer who will advance Enstalls industry leading certification and compatibility process to ensure exceptional installer experience and best in class permitting experience. The Senior Systems Engineer will coordinate with module, inverter, balance of system, and building product manufacturers to qualify product compatibility and compliance to various standards. You will be a key member of the Product Development and Innovation Team.

What You'll Do
Working within a dynamic product development & innovation team, responsible for leading the development of new best in class mounting system solutions
Create a streamlined module, inverter, balance of system and building products compatibility process for Enstall
Manage compatibility meetings, documentation, testing, samples, and certification with 3rd party manufacturers
Lead jurisdiction specific certification projects
Support product UL certification projects
Run mechanical, electrical, environmental and performance tests, using environmental chambers, tensile testers, load cells, power supplies, and other measuring/data acquisition/testing equipment to best suit the test objectives
Craft test plans, collect and summarize detailed data for all tests and write test reports
Working cross-functionally with customers, product design, manufacturing, quality, product management, and marketing teams.
What You'll Bring
BS Engineering or related degree
Minimum 5 years of Product Testing, Certification in solar or related industries
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to communicate and collaborate across functional groups and diverse audiences, while working in a dynamic team and project focused environment.
Excellent project management aptitude
Solid knowledge of Module technology, certification, and applications
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think creatively and take on traditional problems in new and better ways
Experience with UL, ASTM, IEC, NEC, IBC, ASCE and other relevant PV industry codes and standards
Construction and fabrication experience
Ability to travel as much as 25% of your time
Preferred
MS Engineering or related degree
Expertise with the National Electrical Code
Strong understanding of the product development phase/gate process
Working knowledge of 3D CAD software
Experience and knowledge in statistical methods, design of experiments, fire testing, FMEA, DVT, HALE/HALT, large scale structural testing, fatigue testing, cyclic testing, joint and assembly testing, metallurgical analyses, materials characterization, destructive and non-destructive test methods, galvanic corrosion, and other failure modes unique to long term outdoor exposure of metallic and plastic components
Strong knowledge in test equipment programming, automation, and data acquisition
Familiarity with commercial solar racking solutions as well as project engineering and construction
Expertise in common outdoor structural materials, their grades and heat treatments including steel, aluminum, wood, plastics, etc.
Where You'll Be Located
This position is a hybrid position based out of Hayward, CA. Candidates must be able to commute to our Hayward office weekly
Physical Demands
This role requires travel to project sites, to other Enstall US office locations, and interaction with a wide range of personnel and site conditions. The employee is regularly required sit, stand, walk, crawl, kneel, and climb for extended periods, as well as use his/her hands to lift, handle, and feel various materials, components, and assemblies. Site visits often require the employee to climb ladders, spend time on flat and pitched roofs in extreme heat or cold, and understand and adhere to safety protocols for different situations. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.

We offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, education and location. We anticipate the base salary for this position to be between $120,000 -$129,000, if located in the California market. In addition to base salary, Enstall employees are eligible for either an annual bonus or commission, depending on their position. If your desired salary falls outside of these rates, we hope you'll still apply as there may be other positions that better align.
