YOUTH COACH

POSITION: Youth Coach

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part Time, 30 hours/week

REPORTS TO: Program Manager

COMPENSATION: $20.00/hr. and 10 paid holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transport program participants to and from the Achievement Center (ACE)
• Coordinate, maintain and communicate daily transportation route for pick up and drop off
• Distribute healthy snacks and meals to participants
• Responsible for working individually with each youth to achieve the goals of their case plan
• Write reports, document program records and statistics to provide to Data Specialist for reporting
• Assist in program set-up and closing including: cleaning, putting away tables, chairs, and supplies, etc.
• Provide direct supervision for up to 25 youthful offenders at any given time
• Provide Crisis Intervention for participants if needed (training provided)
• Work with ACE Case Manager to support youth in their case plan
• Work alongside ACE Staff to provide support for programs (Group Mentoring, CAP, One on One and Group Counseling, Work Readiness Workshops, Academic Support and Tutoring, Recreational Activities, and other CTE programming)
• Additional responsibilities as determined
• Encourage youth in their occupational and career pathways

REQUIRED:

• Have a valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation. (Mileage reimbursement will be paid)
• Good driving record (DMV report will be requested)
• Be available from 2pm – 8 pm Monday through Friday
• Able to work effectively with a diverse ethnic and social economic population.
• Be able to pass the DOJ Background Check or Vetting Procedure
• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Experience working directly with at-risk youth, 2 years preferred
• Lift at least 25-35 lbs.
• Strong supervisory/coaching skills

PREFERRED:

• Possess strong people and customer service skills.
• Be energetic, hard-working, motivated, and team-oriented.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Some college or bachelor degree preferred
