Eye Surgery Center of Chattanooga is looking for a Pre- Admission Testing RN to join our Chattanooga team!

The Registered Nurse – Preadmission Testing supports team goals, values and philosophy by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, quality service, commitment and accountability. POSITION SUMMARY

The RN-Preadmission Testing position is responsible for the coordination of surgical procedures with scheduling/check-in/insurance and the performance and validation of patient medical histories. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following:

  • Assists in the daily operation of the center activities in accordance with Federal, State and surgery center policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates the reception/admitting activities and promotes communication throughout the facility and other offices.
  • Maintains facility medical records according to established guidelines and requirements.
  • Participates in quality review and performance improvement projects
  • Participates in the performance appraisal process
  • Uses problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members
  • Maintains required competencies
  • Acts as a patient advocate and maintains privacy and confidentiality of all appropriate information.
  • Completes all required compliance training.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately.
  • Ability to utilize resources in a timely, organized and cost-effective manner.
  • Good computer skills including use of standard office programs
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Ability to work well under pressure and accept additional assignments willingly
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to accommodate workload
  • Ability to concentrate, think, and learn
  • Ability to hear, see, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, push and pull

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Current Tennessee RN license; BLS required; Two (2) years’ experience in a clinical setting required. All employees must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.

Working knowledge and hospital or ambulatory surgery center, experience in PACU, including direct patient care.
Knowledge of patient monitoring equipment.
Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately.
Ability to utilize resources in a timely, organized and cost-effective manner.
Good computer skills including use of standard office programs
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to speak, read, and write in English
Ability to work well under pressure and accept additional assignments willingly

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must possess updated licensure for state in which facility is located. Two (2) years of clinical experience preferred, with emphasis in PACU, surgery, or ER; IV skills required. BLS required. ACLS required. All employees must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States.
