Job Purpose:

As a Shipping and QC tech at Escapology, you will be a key player in the inspection and shipping of escape room props around the world. You'll utilize your expertise in quality control and logistical management to ensure everything leaving our production facility is of the highest quality to further engage players enhancing their overall adventure.

Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspect props as they reach the QC department and compare the prop on hand to the standard evaluating it for craftsmanship, quality and adherence to the standard
  • Record all props and any defects within the QC tracking system for proper reporting and future process improvement
  • Return defected props to home departments for repairs while conversely making the decision to repair props on the spot if the time to fix is within standard
  • Photograph props and assist in building the next generation QC system by digitizing the current process over time
  • Maintain the QC department to site standards including all storage, supplies, tools and workspaces
  • Collaborate with Team Leads from all departments to ensure props that are kicked back with defects are repaired and returned to QC in a timely manner
  • Communicate department information on a regular basis to the team to ensure consistent information flow back to game design and production
  • Escalate concerns that would impact production and shipping timelines through the chain of command
  • Wrap completed props in protective packaging and strategically fill pallets for the most efficient and optimized shipments
  • Ensure accurate accounting of props to pallets while also ensuring the packing slips are all reflective and accurate
  • Maintain orderly storage of props, materials and completed games within the external storage containers
  • Assist in securing 3rd party haulers to pick up our shipments and deliver them on-time and damage free
  • Provide timely updates on shipping locations by reviewing tracking IDs and GPS locators placed within our crates
  • Ensure shipments are ready to go for hauler pickup with all packing slips and required stickers attached to crates
  • Improve and refine current systems to ensure we are operating as efficient as possible and always looking to improve how we can deliver for our customers
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement within the team.
  • Manage time effectively to balance on-your-feet duties and administrative responsibilities.
  • You will also be asked to work in / support other departments as a secondary role within Escapology Manufacturing. This will be on an as needed basis dependent upon the needs of the business and the customer

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Quality Control, preferably within the escape room, entertainment or manufacturing industries.
  • Previous experience in logistics specifically with third party haulers and time dependent shipments
  • Ability to effectively utilize computers, windows, google products, airtable and flexible to learn new softwares
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to set and enforce quality control standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Time management and organizational skills to efficiently balance all responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Escape Room Tech, preferred not required.
  • Physical strength to lift objects weighing between 35-50 lbs on occasion, as needed.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while performing job-related duties.
