Position Summary:

Would you like to work with your independently, with your hands, and outside with some amazing views? This could be the perfect opportunity for you!

We are looking for a motivated and reliable person to perform repairs (primarily) and occasional inspection of metal fire escape systems in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. We will offer job-specific training but you should be familiar and comfortable working with basic power tools, extension ladders, A-type ladders, and climbing multi-story fire escapes.

Requirements of the job include (but are not limited to):

· climbing ladders/fire escapes

· carrying heavy objects

· rust removal by chisel / hammer

· cutting / drilling 1/4" to 3/8" thick steel and 1" pipe threading to fabricate new parts onsite

· replacing rusted parts

· painting finished work

· documenting work via phone app and written field reports

· other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate should have an eye for detail and a STRONG desire to work safely. Candidates must have a clean DMV record (and driving history that is approved by insurance) and speak / write clear English. Past work experience with painting from ladders and/or scaffolding is a plus. Knowledge of hand and power tools is a definite plus.
