Educational Service Center of Central Ohio

Coordinator, State Support Team 11
 
Certified; Administration
 
Annual one-year contract; employment ends annually on July 31; employment contract specifies that no notice of non-renewal is required; employment contract is contingent upon availability of DEW grant funding the ESCCO; other terms and conditions of employment as per the ESCCO-COG Governing Board policies and procedures.
 
Assists the Director and Assistant Director with the planning and development of State Support Team services and supports as outlined in the Grant Agreement. Keeps the Director informed about emerging issues. Effectively manages staff and acts as a team member for specific projects as needed.
 
Qualifications: The following qualifications are considered as guidelines:
  • Master’s Degree (i.e., education, special education, early childhood education, education administration, or appropriate related field or evidence of equivalency)
  • Valid Ohio administrative or supervision license appropriate for the assignment
  • Demonstrates excellence in leading, motivating, and developing adults.
  • Displays strong collaboration skills with internal team members and external stakeholders identifying opportunities to expand knowledge and skills and sharing information with colleagues.
  • Exhibits expert knowledge in data analysis to identify internal and external critical needs and strategies to address priority needs. Demonstrates knowledge of federal laws and regulations aligned to SST Grant Agreement
  • Displays exceptional and professional written and verbal communication skills and modifies communication modes based on the audience.
  • Seeks opportunities to innovate current policies and practices and regularly enacts follow-through with existing and new initiatives.
  • Promotes positive internal and external customer relations, including creating effective interpersonal relationships and projecting a professional image.
  • Documentation of a clear criminal record in compliance with state statue
  • Complies with drug-free workplace rules and Board policies.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license
  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate strong diplomacy skills.
  • Proficient in office protocol and the use of information technology systems. Proficient in the use of office and management information software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
 
 
Reports to: SST Director
 
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  1. Support the Director and Assistant Director in developing and monitoring ongoing progress and improvement efforts with regional needs assessment, regional service plan, service delivery agreements, and quarterly progress reports.
  2. Develop and coordinate professional development on emerging needs of the districts resulting from processes, procedures, and policies issued by DEW relative to LEA improvement efforts.
  3. Review current research, literature, and technical resources of information related to job responsibilities.
  4. Attend professional development aligned with the scope of the work including opportunities to build knowledge regarding a broad range of data and reports resulting from Ohio’s accountability system and educator effectiveness programs to stay current on educational practices, resources, and legal issues.
  5. Assist the Director and Assistant Director in fostering a culture of data reliance by promoting a consistent understanding of education data throughout our internal team and LEA partners.
  6. Participate as a member of the SST11 interview committee which includes screening, interviewing, and rating potential candidates.
  7. Coordinates professional development activities integrated across the various work scopes of the SST, aligned to the grant agreement.
  8. Assists with special projects as directed. Works with Director to establish schedules and assign special project work to staff members.
  9. Cross-trains with other staff as directed and offers assistance when needed.
  10. Collaborate with educational leaders and partners to promote a continuous improvement process at the local, regional, and state levels.
  11. Performs duties to facilitate effective operations. Uses independent judgment and takes the initiative to perform tasks.
  12.  Identifies and implements procedures that improve productivity.
  13.  Oversees human resource activities for assigned staff, as directed by Director (e.g., leave notices, attendance, completion of performance evaluations, etc.)
  14. Takes precautions to ensure staff safety. Watches for behavior that may indicate a problem. Works with staff to eliminate unacceptable behavior.
  15. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the SST Director.
 
 
Compensation: Salary schedule placement commensurate with experience and training. Salary, insurance coverage, and fringe benefits are determined per the current Board adopted policies and schedules.
