Department Position Summary:
Works to maintain all grounds and parking lots of the Erlanger Health System main campus and other hospital-owned property on an assigned basis. Working hours vary as needed. Cleans all main entrance areas and smoking areas, mows and trims all lawn areas, prunes trees and shrubs. Sprays for weeds and insects, waters lawns, cares for flowers and flowerbeds, washes down entrance areas and cleans parking lots. Does weekly preventive maintenance on all grounds equipment and helps to maintain all equipment to department standards. Contributes to the safe operation of the Engineering Department by following safety guidelines. Works on the Snow Crew in the winter months as needed.

Must be able to show abilities for lawn care maintenance, tree and shrubbery pruning skills, flower installation, care and maintenance. Must be able to use lawn equipment of varying types and care in the use of this equipment. Must show levels of improvement in working in Landscape Maintenance on an annual basis. Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold weather and to function in dirty and noisy conditions. Employee must be able to interpret and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently on jobs assigned.
