Erie Public Schools is Hiring an EPS Electrician Near Erie, PA
Title:ElectricianLocations/Times: Service Center Position Summary: Maintains, installs, operates and repairs such equipment as generators, electrical motors, lighting and power distribution system; (interior and exterior). Test circuits for shorts, grounds, and other failures, and performs electrical shop work and repairs electrical equipment. Is able to draw and interpret complicated electrical wiring and circuit diagrams. Basic installation and maintenance of security equipment, fire alarm equipment, CAT 5 and Network wiring. Read and work from blueprints, plans and specifications and other related designs. As necessary, required to assemble and disassemble scaffolding. Perform such other related electrical work as may be assigned. Selects proper tools, determine materials to use, and accomplish work in accordance with appropriate methods and accepted trade and/or industrial practices as set forth by National Electrical Code. Salary: $24.95 position rate/ $24.85 probation rate Report to: Trades Supervisor Qualifications
Current City of Erie Master or Journeyman Electrician license
Experience or training as an electrician.
Demonstrated:
Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems
Ability to test circuits for shorts, grounds and other failures
Ability to perform electrical shop work and repair electrical equipment
Ability to draw and interpret schematic circuit diagrams of simple electrical circuits and interpret complicated electrical wiring and circuit diagrams
Ability to install and maintain security equipment, fire alarm equipment
Ability to design computer networking infrastructure
Ability to assemble and disassemble scaffolding, climb ladders and function at elevated levels
Ability to install electrical circuits and conduit
Knowledge of Basic Windows programs
Knowledge of pneumatic to electric control systems
Ability to troubleshoot burner management systems and boiler controls.
Ability to work with other trades to troubleshoot electrical issues and install new equipment.
Ability to prepare documents needed to obtain building permits from the City of Erie.
Ability to respond to on-call after hours emergencies.
Special Requirements
Physical Demands: Ability to move equipment weighing 75 lbs., climb ladders, and work in high places. Sufficient physical ability, strength, mobility and stamina to lift, carry, push or pull objects which may frequently exceed 75 pounds in a series of functional tests which clearly simulates the work environment.
