Function:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Patron Services Manager is responsible for building relationships with patrons through quality customer service, special events, and marketing and communications initiatives. This position also serves as a point of contact for our patrons, ensuring clear and informative communication regarding upcoming and current events. The Patron Services Manager spends a portion of their weekly schedule providing support to the box office staff, with exact hours spent in the box office flexing based on demand. This is a part-time position requiring some weekend and evening hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (included, but not limited to):

• Develop, implement and/or support special events, projects and initiatives to cultivate audiences, recognize patrons and donors, and promote volunteerism at the Playhouse, in coordination with other staff.
• Help to build and maintain community partnerships to foster strategic collaboration with outside organizations, businesses and entities.
• Manage the delivery and execution of sponsor and advertiser benefits, including the creation and distribution of promotional vouchers.
• Create pre-show videos including advertising for programming, acknowledgments and commercials based on sponsorship packages, and other marketing and fundraising priorities.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and Artistic Director on coordination and creation of all Playbills.
• Assist the Marketing Manager in the creation of a monthly newsletter, pre- and post-show communications, and various other messaging to patrons.
• Provide support to the Box Office Manager by assisting patrons with ticket sales via phone, in person, by mail and by email during select business hours and during select performances.
• Assist Box Office staff with Patron Manager (ticketing database software), keep patron and user profiles up to date, and assist with implementation of sales, discount codes, and various ticket sale processing work.
• Maintain the master calendar of all Playhouse productions and events, as well as outside events held in our venue.

Qualifications:

• Background in customer service, event planning and/or patron/guest relations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Creativity and innovation demonstrated through previous work experience.
• Ability to initiate and build relationships with patrons via telephone, email and in person, and to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
• Eagerness to work as a collaborative team member while maintaining the ability to work independently.
• Ability to multitask, adapt, and demonstrate creative problem-solving methods.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with some availability during evenings and/or weekends for performances, as needed.
• Computer proficiency including Patron Manager ticketing software (as trained), and Microsoft Office products. Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of ticket sales, basic cash handling procedures, and fiscal responsibility, including PCI compliance, preferred, but not required (can be trained).

• Passion for and/or experience in the performing arts preferred.
• Employment is conditional upon satisfactory background checks and clearances, including Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal History Clearance.

Job Type: Part-time, 20-24 hours per week

Salary: $15 - $20 an hour, commensurate with experience
