Our ASICs will be challenging when considering the overall combination of complexity, power, performance targets, and advanced process node technologies. Ericsson is looking for an energetic, dedicated, and experienced SW Developer who will develop SW to validate and debug ASIC HW silicon prior to release. You will work closely with the other engineering functions in Austin and Sweden as the design takes shape at the IP, ASIC, and system level. This will ensure the final ASIC achieves the program goals with the highest quality as we compete with the best in the world to maintain our technology leadership position.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop framework and infrastructure components to support the run environment and automation.
* Develop silicon tests, drivers, and run control in C/C and Python.
* Assess and visualize ASIC test case coverage to identify improvement opportunities.
* Perform in lab testing/proof of concept work to demonstrate/prove code and coverage improvements.
* Lead collaborative technical discussions to resolution and develop scalable and re-usable frameworks and test cases.
* Driving technical innovations in order to improve Ericsson's ASIC validation and methodology capabilities.

Requirements
* Minimum 10 years of development experience with C/C and Python with a focus on HW validation and embedded SW.
* Adheres to and evangelizes good coding practices and standards.
* Experience with source code management (GIT) tools and IDEs.
* Able to articulate and understand complex hardware architecture, data paths and IP functions.
* Strong ability to read and write technical specifications and grasp new technical concepts quickly.
* Hands on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems, bash scripting, etc.
* Strong knowledge of validation principals and test coverage strategies.
* Adept and excited about 'in lab' system work (Linux, scripting, platform management, test instrument setup and usage, etc.).
* Shown success in working across geographies and multi-functional teams.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills at being able to represent complex ideas verbally and visually to a wide range of audiences (managers, architects, etc.).
* Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail.
* Self-starter, strong collaborator, technically curious, and able to independently drive ambiguous tasks to completion.

Assets
* Exposure to and experience with network communications.
* Experience with assembly language programming.
* Exposure to and experience with hardware emulators and validation platforms.
* Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.

Your Pay
The salary range for this position is listed below. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Your Health
Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of 3 medical plan options, 2 of which are PPO plans requiring employee contributions to the cost of premiums, and a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with no premiums for employees and dependents. In addition, Ericsson offers free dental coverage, employee paid vision coverage, and other company paid physical wellness programs.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson's 401(k) plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and up to a 4% company match, leading to a maximum company contribution of 7% annually. Employees will also receive company paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment coverage and paid company short-term and long-term disability benefits. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson's Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided up to 40 days of paid time off per year, including 15 days of accrued annual vacation, 3 personal days, 11 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 1 volunteer day. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Those with additional vacation time at the end of the year may sell one week of vacation, equal to a week of pay. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of maternity/medical leave, 6 weeks of paternity or adoption leave at 100% of pay, and medical leave at 100% or 66 2/3% of pay, based on length of service.
