About this opportunity:

At Ericsson, we are looking for an individual who can become our Environment, Health, and Safety Expert. The EHS Director works independently, leads, guides and directs their team. In this role the individual will assist the VP of EHS and other EHS Directors in implementing strategic initiatives that support the Company's overall business strategies and activities. All related activities will be to help build on the company's safety culture and help drive continuous improvement and increased employee involvement with sustainable results. Helping to form a sustainable safety culture and fostering employee well-being are central to this role.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with all levels of the business to proactively understand the EHS risks related to their function and recommend corrective measures to mitigate such risks.
  • Utilize EHS related data analytics to drive proactive change within the organization.
  • Form strategic alliances and partnerships with key organizations within the business.
  • Proactively influence direct reports and internal / external customers' ability to utilize data and trends as related to EHS or ISO compliance, strengthening the EHS Management System and overall EHS culture.
  • Manage incident investigation and RCCA program for area of responsibility.
  • Provide coaching and guidance for continual improvement to team members and customers.
  • Work closely with suppliers and contractors across span of control to continually enhance performance and compliance with Ericsson requirements.
  • Create and update Risk and Opportunity Assessments within area of responsibility.
  • Coordinate and support pre-job meetings with management and field leadership to proactively engage in client requirements and identify support needs such as JHA, High Hazard Work, EHS Permit requirements, EHS Project Plans, and required training.
  • Promote, support and proactively review Job Safety (Hazard) Analysis reports, required safety permits and safety plans.

The skills you bring:

  • Recognized Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or equivalent certifications and work experience. CSP or CHST, preferred.
  • 10 -15 years' experience leading progressive EHS organizations across multiple locations, regions, or areas within telecommunications or construction industries, preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead team of direct reports across multiple functions, regions, or states in addition to continual coaching and ongoing development of each direct report.
  • Previous experience working with Radio Frequency (RF/EMF), implementing, and facilitating emergency management response; teaching or leading work at heights programs, including rescue; developing, implementing and leading behavior-based safety programs.
  • Must possess a forward-thinking vision as it relates to the continual improvement of the EHS management system and how it relates to the current climate within the business.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented - expert proficiency with Microsoft office programs including professional writing.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and as needed.
  • Active participation in a recognized EHS trade association (ASSP, NSC, NATE, etc.).
  • Knowledge and work-related history of ANSI A10.48, ISO 45001/14001 program implementation.
  • Effective training and communication skills for multiple areas across the EHS organization.
