As a Preconstruction Coordinator at Erickson-Hall Construction Company, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Preconstruction in the planning and coordination of projects from conception to the start of construction. You will be involved in various aspects of the preconstruction phase, contributing to the development of accurate schedules and estimates, performing constructability reviews and efficient project plans. This role requires a keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Document Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date project files, including contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules and correspondence, utilizing appropriate software and filing systems.
  • Project Planning: Contribute to the development of project schedules, logistics plans, and value engineering strategies to optimize project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Client Communication: Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and other documentation for client meetings, providing support as needed to address client inquiries and concerns.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on industry trends, materials, and construction methods to support decision-making and enhance project outcomes.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless project transitions and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Bid Preparation: Support the Estimating Department to gather and analyze project requirements, plan, specifications, and other relevant documentation to develop accurate cost estimates, preparation of comprehensive bid proposals, including assembling bid packages, coordinating subcontractor bids, and ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
  • Perform other office functions as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in construction industry, construction management-related roles (Project Coordinator, Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager level) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam. Construction management software (Procore) advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Team player with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic and challenging environment.

  • While performing the duties of this position, an employee is regularly required to work indoors, but may be subjected to noise that regularly occurs at a construction site.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull materials to complete assigned job tasks.
  • Be able to use hands to finger, handle feel or operate objects, office materials or controls and reach with hands and arms.
