Ergon is Hiring an EHS Application Developer Near Flowood, MS

Ergon has an opening at our corporate in Flowood, MS, for EHS Application Developer. The EHS Application Developer position in the Environmental and Security department ensures Enablon, or other EHS product (e.g., Cority, lntellex, Sphera), software life-cycle development and implementation at Ergon. Performs fit and gap analysis for EHS product implementation, integration, configuration and migration. Leverages experience writing detailed functional designs, coding and testing software to ensure solutions have strong construction and functionality. Works with operations teams, subject-matter experts, IT department, and external consultants to deliver solutions that meet business process and workflow needs.

EHS Application Developer Key Competencies:

  • Using the software development life cycle for requirements-based architecture, design, development, configuration, testing, staging, implementation, and support
  • Work with third-party consultants on solutions design, development, and delivery
  • Design systems and changes that improve and optimize organizational processes
  • Apply strong project principles to complete work efforts for successful outcomes
  • Leverage vast EHS domain knowledge as foundation to help solve IT problems

EHS Application Developer Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering (or equivalent education and/or computer programming experience)
  • 5 years' progressive programming experience with EHS enterprise software
  • Minimum of 4 years experience on Enablon V.7 (or higher), NABSIC language Forms, Reports, Approval & Rules Factory, Incident Management, EHS Audits
  • Minimum of 3 years user interface development experience with CSS/3, HTML/5
  • Minimum of 3 years experience providing IT support/software support
  • Broad programming experience in Microsoft ASP.NET, VB, Java, SQL, C#, C
  • Proven development experience with APl's & Web Services, SQL Scripting & PowerShell
  • Experience with other development languages and tools preferred
  • Ability to work harmoniously and perform successfully in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate well with stakeholders at all levels to obtain and convey information regarding projects
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft applications: Word, Access, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
  • Strong process documentation skills and knowledge of tools
  • Applying project management principles to organize, track, and complete tasks according to specified plans
  • EPA regulations (air/water emission calculations, RCRA, air/water permitting, TSCA) and OSHA regulatory compliance systems (Enablon, Cority, SAP) a plus
  • Agile Scrum Master certification a plus

EHS Application Developer Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Planning, designing, developing, training, improving and maintaining complex computer applications
  • Assure coordinated suitable delivery of system applications and interfaces
  • Perform systems of interest engineering
  • Coordinate management and hand-off of systems understanding sharing with staff
  • Develop data-centric enterprise EHS & risk management information systems to support business units
  • Foster relationships with stakeholders to identify requirements for enhancements of managed systems
  • Facilitate and elicit stakeholder requirements to translate business needs into technology solutions
  • Develop reporting, data analytics, and other solutions that contribute to the enterprise EHS mission
  • Showcase understanding of software development life cycle, particularly agile delivery methodology
  • Actively engage in user acceptance testing, ensuring the successful alignment of enterprise solutions
  • Create documentation needed for good business process software development life-cycle practices
  • Exhibit proficiency in creating technical design/functional design documents
  • Follow through on business requests, ensuring client satisfaction and effective problem resolution
  • Work closely with third-party consultants and vendors to ensure adherence to Ergon's standards
  • Act as administrator and support services for Tier 2 & 3 help desk requests and to process work orders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cohesive data integration solutions and effective communications
  • Co-develop test plans with business analyst, project manager, stakeholders, & subject matter experts
  • Complete all work assignments in a timely manner and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned
