Your role:

In your role as an Apache SME, you will directly support a variety of Department of Defense weapon systems programs. You will apply your knowledge and experience as part of the Test Team at Redstone Test Center’s Apache/Reconnaissance test division. As part of the team you will plan, conduct, and report on military ground, aviation, and missile systems in direct support of the test and evaluation mission of the United States Army Redstone Test Center located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

What you’ll do all day:

  • Work as part of a team of flight test engineers and technicians.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed technical discussions and/or presentations.
  • Conduct onsite test experiments to increase Apache knowledge of the current test team.
  • Conduct research and experiments to support modernization of the Apache facility capabilities.
  • Provide one on one guidance to test engineers on Apache principles for current test programs.
  • Review current test processes and offer new and inventive ideas for Apache testing modernization.
  • Communicate with the Apache engineering team and customers to discover and develop test requirements.
  • Analyze test data as a part of a team to deliver high quality data for test reporting.

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience
  • Must have demonstrated ability to apply practical knowledge to flight testing applicable to the developmental and system qualification testing of Apache aircraft.
  • Manned-unmanned teaming pilot vehicle interface design knowledge and experience.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)

Desired skills and experience for this position:

  • Master’s in engineering field from an accredited university
  • In depth knowledge of manned-unmanned teaming concepts, testing, and reporting.
  • Manned-unmanned teaming pilot vehicle interface design development and testing.
  • In depth knowledge of aircraft digital communication testing and interoperability certification.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, executing, data analysis, and reporting on test programs.
  • Experience providing career growth of junior engineers and/or technicians through mentoring.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
