Job Overview: Provides food and beverage services to guests according to established standards and service protocols. Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Comfortable speaking with guests and performing multiple job functions to ensure the highest quality of service.
  • Prepares the food and beverage outlet for service:
    • Can Do” and “Have Fun” attitude brought to work.
    • Ensures tables/trays are clean and set according to established standards.
    • Ensures all required supplies, condiments, etc. are properly stocked and organized.
    • Completes all other established “sidework” as required.
  • Stocks all guest room minibars according to daily assignment and hotel standards:
    • Ensures minibar is clean and organized.
    • Replenishes inventory to 100% capacity.
    • Reports damages or required repairs to the manager.
  • Prepares guest room usage report so that guests are accurately billed for items purchased from the minibar.
  • Ensures minibar service carts are properly stocked, following the established procedures for maintaining inventory.
  • Makes routine checks of inventory and validates expiration dates to ensure products/stock remains fresh.
  • Assists with retrieving and storing minibar inventory from the storeroom.
  • Ensures all equipment used during the course of a shift is properly maintained and stored.
  • Has full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
  • Has full knowledge of beverages and promotions.
  • Assists guests with orders and menu items in an accurate and informative way. Places orders according to established procedures.
  • Follows all established food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Ensures all equipment used during the course of a shift is properly maintained and stored.
  • Complies with all Work Rules, Safety Standards and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Employee Handbook.
  • Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • May be assigned other duties at the discretion of management.

Qualifications/Skills:

Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Essential:

  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Professional attitude, and verbiage in the workplace
  • Comfortable speaking with guests, and effectively anticipating guest needs.
  • Must possess a “Can Do, positive, Have Fun” attitude
  • Hospitality service, a plus, but not preferred
  • Knowledge in POS systems, a plus, but not preferred
  • Ability to work flexible schedule (AM, PM, Overnight, Weekends & Holidays).

Desirable:

  • High School graduate or equivalent vocational training.
  • Guest Services experience desirable.

Essential Physical Abilities:

  • Physical Job Requirements: Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying
  • 50% of the shift: Lifting trays, moving various carts, dollies or trash cans.
  • Bending/Kneeling 25% of the shift to reach items stored in cabinets and minibars.
  • Climbing 5% of shift: Stairs and ladders.
  • Mobility: 100% of the shift walking several hundred feet at a time, standing, bending, or kneeling periodically.
  • Continuous Standing: Standing while in waiting for guest to arrive and while taking orders.
  • Must be able to see the physical condition of designated areas.
  • Must be able to read, write orders and use a point of sale system.
  • Ability to work with cleaning agent 15% of the shift.
  • Protective Clothing: May wear gloves when cleaning.
  • One-on-one communication with guest, managers and fellow employees.
  • Must be able to read and generate reports, guest correspondence, and computer screens.
