Equity Residential is Hiring a Business Analyst, Revenue Strategy Near Chicago, IL

Job Description
The main focus of the Business Analyst is to assist and support the Manager, Revenue Partnerships in the administration, reporting, analysis, and operations of the revenue generating categories. Revenue generating categories include telecom, renter's insurance, third party laundry, rooftop antennas, and others. Some of the key responsibilities include: collecting, synthesizing, and reporting on external and internal program metrics; making decisions directly impacting program operations; preparing summary highlight presentations on the progress of key initiatives; conducting current-state analysis across designated categories; managing vendor relationships and expectations; auditing vendor compliance and invoicing; front-end involvement in initiatives; and direct impact on ancillary revenue. This position will support these programs on a day to day basis to ensure that they are running optimally and we are meeting our ancillary revenue goals.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Direct and perform data collection and management , conduct performance trending and data analyses, produce management reports, help to make decisions to address problems and issues, and provide broad support for assigned categories.
  • Create presentations and related communication to highlight summary program/project results to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for preparing ad hoc analysis on program results , including (but not limited to): areas of risk, action items needed, key opportunities for improvement, etc.
  • Manage vendor relationships and day-to-day program functions ensuring desired Property Operations outcomes and goals are met.
  • Serve as a go-to liaison for internal customers and external vendors to resolve large-scale or complex requests, questions, issues, etc.
  • Conduct audits of vendor invoicing, pricing, and other contract requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Suggest process improvements that result in better visibility and more effective management of resources and/or reduced costs and directly implement those recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain complex databases and trackers of vendor and property data, open issues, program changes, project implementations, etc.
  • Prepare periodic reports for accounting, internal audit, and senior management.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc requests, as needed.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in business or economics preferred, plus 2 years previous professional experience in analytical, operational or property management roles.
  • Knowledge of renters insurance and/or telecom preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, intuitiveness, conceptual thought processes, and exemplary organizational skills to support numerous existing projects and new business initiatives.
  • Analytical skills are necessary, with proficiency in Excel and Google Applications. Power Query and Access preferred. Experience with Essbase is also preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly master additional data collection and data management software. Comfortable utilizing and learning new technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and translate numerical/technical data into clear written, verbal, and presentation communications.
