JOB OVERVIEW

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and up-keep of the Fort Myers, FL location and its surrounding grounds. Solely responsible for cleaning, repairing, installing, and maintaining the building (i.e. furniture, electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems) as required. Also assists with vendor communication and event setup/cleanup.


RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Organizing, logging, and communicating with vendors, inspectors, and various contacts for routine and/or emergency building maintenance
  • Ensuring office and building supplies are adequately stocked, placing orders and verifying receipt
  • Communicating with leadership on the status of building maintenance and repairs
  • Ensuring work areas are clean, secure and well maintained
  • Assisting with special projects as necessary
  • Collaborating with the management team for special events and meetings
  • Performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs, replace lightbulbs throughout office
  • Changing HVAC filters as required
  • Cleaning cafes and performing janitorial duties and other related tasks
  • Maintaining the grounds around the building
  • Coordinating with leadership and act as equipment buyer
  • Assembling furniture and moving office fixtures and furniture as directed
  • May perform some office work
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and be customer service-oriented
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
  • Must be comfortable on a ladder

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to speak and hear. The associate is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
