Equitas Health is Hiring a Director of Finance/Corporate Controller Near Columbus, OH

POSITION SUMMARY:The Corporate Controller serves within the Finance Department under the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and is responsible for daily supervision of finance & accounting staff and fiscal functions of the organization that support the following key areas: 
General Ledger Maintenance and Reporting, Month End Close, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, External audits, 401k Reporting, Tax Reporting, Payroll, Grant Management & Reporting, Departmental Reporting and Analytics, Budget Analysis, Proforma Development and analysis. 
SALARY: $105,600-$132,000 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 
Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, people and process management, financial analytics/data reconciliation, conducting research, attending meetings, drafting and distributing reports, interacting with others, support of staff in the following areas as needed/appropriate data entry, typing, filing, sorting, utilizing a computer for data entry, reconciling data, creating and updating spreadsheet, and coordinating multiple schedules. Communicating with others is an essential job function. 
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Lead all operational accounting functions as indicated in position summary
  • Lead departmental budget reporting/variance analysis
  • Oversee Grant Budgeting and Reporting
  • Responsible for all banking and cash management
  • Maintains accounting controls by defining accounting policies and procedures, offering recommendations for update and implementation of new policies, and ensures compliance of policies with support from Senior Director of Finance
  • Evaluates accounting and internal controls
  • Evaluates grant financial management policies/procedures
  • Ensures accurate grant financial reporting
  • Supervises and assists supervisor on grant items including but not limited to budgeting, reporting, portal access, billing, etc.
  • Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; assists CFO with preparing an annual budget; reviewing analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Supervises and assists AP/Housing Supervisor on items included but not limited to, AP system & processes, accounting processes, housing reporting, ETO, etc
  • Leads audit compilation and preparation, internal audit activities and organizing activities
  • Ensures accurate completion of regulatory reporting including tax planning and compliance
  • Supervise month end close process
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements
  • Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues as well as providing senior management with financial information to improve business operations
  • Perform fiscal functions at special events
  • Primary point of contact for Accounting System and Payroll System
  • Hires and trains accounting staff
EDUCATION/LICENSURE: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
  • 10 years’ experience in finance and/or accounting
  • 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with a 501©3 and healthcare is preferred
  • Experience with MIP Fund Accounting a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Qualifications: 
  • Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization preferred.
  • Experience with MIP Fund Accounting a plus
  • Ability to effectively manage/motivate team of diverse backgrounds to achieve organizational goals
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial colleagues
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and structure analysis for complex business issues. Ability to comprehend and create financial analysis.
  • Proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment; abilities in problem solving, project management and creative resourcefulness.
  • High level of business acumen, including successful P&L management and the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget.
  • Must be proficient in use of computer spreadsheet applications, accounting software, applications, word processing and email.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, changing environment, manage multiple demands, work well under pressure and work independently.
  • Highly organized individual who sets priorities and effectively monitors progress towards achievement.
  • Must possess sound business judgment, exercise professional conduct, understand and follow business ethics and standards, and maintain a high level of confidentiality in all duties.
  • Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team, and a willingness to participate in activities and assignments that will benefit other members of the team or will contribute to the accomplishment of team objectives.
