Equitas Academy Charter Schools is Hiring a Director of Enrollment and Community Outreach Near Los Angeles, CA

The mission of Equitas Academy Charter Schools is to provide a structured, achievement-based community that prepares students to graduate from four-year colleges and universities. We currently serve over 2,000 students and operate six schools, four elementary schools and two middle schools in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The job of the Director of Enrollment and Community Outreach is to lead the development of the overall network enrollment strategy, support the growth and development of enrollment team members, work with school-based operations teams to execute enrollment activities, including recruitment, registration and retention. This role will collaborate with the Operations team to achieve defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing short and long-term enrollment plans, as well as serve as a member of the Network Leadership Team.

The Director of Enrollment and Community Outreach reports to the Managing Director of Operations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Equitas Academy’s short and long term sustainable student enrollment strategy to ensure all campuses are fully enrolled
  • Own central data analysis for enrollment across Equitas, including developing systems and producing projections and reports, and responding to ad-hoc requests
  • Create and present reports and recommendations to senior leadership team about enrollment trends, grounded in data 
  • Develop and execute marketing strategy and activities focused on recruitment and retention
  • Own all organic and paid marketing activities, including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, print ads, direct mail and more
  • Delineate and codify roles and responsibilities for student recruitment and enrollment at the network and schools level
  • Partner with school-based leadership teams to develop individualized plans to reach full enrollment
  • Build capacity of school leaders and operations staff to engage families, scholars, staff on community needs
  • Develop best practices to ensure that branding is aligned in all outwards communication and increase brand visibility in and around local community
  • Foster partnerships with local community organizations
  • Oversee execution of events, canvassing and other recruitment efforts that drive student recruitment
  • Create and maintain systems to track effectiveness of recruitment efforts
  • Analyze data to develop new strategies to overcome any enrollment challenges and drive new strategies
  • Ensure compliance with admissions, enrollment, and withdrawal policies
Team Leadership
  • Provides leadership and development to team members and direct reports, which may include the Outreach Manager, Part-Time Student Enrollment Coordinator, and Part-Time Seasonal Recruiter(s) 
  • Maintains open, transparent, proactive communication with team and builds team culture
  • Serves as a role model for core values
  • Actively supports diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5 years of experience with emphasis in student recruitment, sales, marketing, project management, relationship development, pipeline management or lifecycle programs preferred
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally
  • Entrepreneurial, growth mentality, comfortable with gray areas and a passion for building systems and structures from scratch
  • Experience designing, implementing, and leading large scale projects
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-layered organization and build strong relationships with school leaders and other home office and school based colleagues
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Salary range starts at $91,000
