We're looking for:

Equipment Room is looking for a Lead Bartender who will exceed the expectations of all guests in a multitude of tasks that include, but are not limited to, mixing and serving drinks to patrons (directly or through serving staff), waiting on bar patrons and serving them items from the bar menu, creating bar menu items, and all food preparation associated with Bar service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred
  • Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff
  • Ability to create documents in Excel and Word
  • Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System and Point of Sale)
  • Ability to apply concepts of math including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Job Requirements:

  • Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction
  • Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform immediate supervisor of concerns and assist implementing corrective measure when necessary
  • Accurately collect money for all orders taken
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • Balance cash receipts
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers’ excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons
  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
  • Serve all bar patrons
  • Clean bars, work areas, and tables
  • Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Serve snacks or food items to customers as requested
  • Order or requisition liquors and supplies
  • Ask customers who become loud and unruly to leave
  • Slice and pit fruit for snacks and garnishing drinks
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
  • Help plan, organize, and control the operations of the cocktail lounge or bar
  • Prepare food upon guest request or submit order to Kitchen
  • Maintain consistent cleanliness in all bar locations and perform regular inspections, including all refrigerators, surfaces and floors
  • Maintain stock of all utensils, products and resources in all bar areas
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness and stock of beer, liquor (if applicable), and wine
  • Ensure proper receipt of invoiced product and product is put away in proper places
  • Assist in month end inventory counts and report by end of each calendar month
  • Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management via email, log books, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety in the work area
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good, safe working condition
  • Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property
  • Keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
  • Attend relevant meetings

Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, typical of a hotel/restaurant/office setting
  • The person in this position may have to lift/carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift
  • The person having this position may have to remain stationary for one (1) hour, move about/traverse property spaces, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for up to eight (8) hours per day
