The Assistant Infant Teacher helps to create a caring and safe environment for the children and collaborates in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. S/he must be able to communicate, listen, be reliable, and work well with others in a team environment. We are looking for someone passionate about Early Childhood and the impact it has on children's future.

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Implementation:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
  • Create a safe, supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional regulation.
  • Incorporate Conscious Discipline strategies such as the "Safe Place," "Wishing Well," and "I Love You Rituals" into daily routines to support children's social-emotional skills

Child Development:

  • Observe and assess individual children's developmental progress, interests, and needs.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to promote each child's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Foster a love for learning through hands-on experiences, exploration, and play-based activities.

Positive Discipline:

  • Model and teach conflict resolution skills, empathy, and self-regulation techniques to support children in managing their emotions and behaviors effectively.
  • Implement positive reinforcement strategies and redirection techniques to encourage desired behaviors and teach appropriate boundaries.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Establish open and respectful communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning community.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and parent-teacher conferences

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting.
  • Familiarity with the Conscious Discipline approach and a commitment to implementing its principles effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development.

Pay Range:

$17 an hour

Hours:

Tuesday - Friday

7:00 am - 5:30 pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
