Equality Charter School, founded in 2009, will expand upon its success in grades 6-12 and open Equality Charter Elementary School in the Fall of 2024. Equality Charter Elementary School (ECES) will enroll scholars in grades K-1 in the Fall of 2024 and continue to expand through grade 5 making Equality Charter School one of the largest independent charter school serving grades K-12.

Equality Charter Elementary School is delighted to begin our search for the founding ECES K-1 instructional team! ECES is seeking "can do", "roll up your sleeves", “above and beyond is the norm” team players who are up for the job of founding teacher. A founding teacher must be someone who is very comfortable with adapting to change, as we anticipate the realities of opening a new school will demand. Most importantly, our founding team members must epitomize our mission, vision and values to serve as brand ambassadors for our community and families, models for our scholars, and accountability partners for one another.

The role of electives teacher at Equality Charter Elementary School is viewed differently from many other schools. Our program is designed to allow teachers time and capacity to be excellent physical movement and arts instructors and the community social-emotional leaders of their classrooms. We are currently looking for Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Music, and Physical Education teachers.

Qualifications:

- NYS Teaching Certification or pending NYS Certification in grade K-2 or 1-6; Music, Physical Education or Art Education- At least one year teaching Art or Physical Education based elective in grades K-5- Priority will be given to candidates with a strong understanding and application of MTSS tiered classroom interventions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
