POSITION SUMMARY: Manually inspects completed plastics parts and packs them into boxes for shipping. Seals boxes and prints labels. Operates machines located in the clean room and other secondary operations. May train Inspector/Packer I’s. Operates in a safe manner and keeps work area clean and organized.

Sets up station with the correct process inspection documents, screens, and/or workflow instructions.

Package and label product in accordance of the standard operating procedure.

Documents production, calculating the number of products inspected and rejected.

Communicates any process/quality problems to the Molding Operator or Department Mgr.

Fills out Quality paperwork

In process inspection: Inspection consists of frequent examination of the visual attributes of each product (discoloration, shorts, burns, contamination sinks, splay, delamination, etc. as well as requirements listed on the in-process report.

Packing: Preparation includes transferring the product from catch bins or boxes into shipping containers, transporting the product to the shipping area, properly weighing, properly completing, and affixing correct label to container using SAP, preparing and supplying new or used boxes or trays to the molding presses

Sorts and Reworks: Sorting and/or reworking product that does not conform to the customer requirements. Properly documents and labels to identify the status of non-conforming product. Sampling and gaging of reject product may also be required.

Assist with relieving other operators with scheduled breaks when needed.

Reads and interprets the manufacturing process instructions, visual aids/drawings (e.g. microscope and magnifying lenses).

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION: High School diploma, equivalent or trade school graduate and/or minimum experience.

EXPERIENCE: 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: None

OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess good written and verbal communication skills with our internal and external customers. Basic knowledge of equipment. Basic ability to read prints and use simple measuring equipment. Basic math skills.
