Epilogue Books Chocolate Brews is Hiring an Ops Manager Near Chapel Hill, NC

We are actively seeking passionate and creative individuals who love the smell of baked goods as much as we do. We prefer those with food service experience, specially in a café setting. We have a staff diverse in age, gender, race, language, and class; all are welcome here.

This is a full time and salaried position.

Duties & Responsibilities

    *Manage food and supply ordering. *Complete and publish monthly scheduling *Ensure that Leadership understands and maintains sales/work hours ratios as business dictates throughout the day *Work with Café and Bookstore Leadership to ensure proper staffing and ensuring daily/weekly tasks and goals are met *Work with Owners/Managers and communicate information in a timely manner to both owners as well as staff. This information can include but is not limited to scheduling, staffing and inventory needs *Assist in the interviewing and hiring process *Train and work with Leads & Keyholders as needed and ensure new hires are trained per their side of the business *Customer Service and ensure the store is running smoothly when you are on the floor. Fill in where needed *In conjunction with the Leadership team, ensure we are meeting/upholding health and safety standards *Enforce employee policies per our handbook and ensure the rest of the Leadership team does the same *Conduct Employee evaluations and work with the Leadership team to provide positive and constructive feedback to all teammates when necessary *Enforce and administer corrective action up to and including termination when necessary *When in store ensure they are the Leader on duty or there is always a Leader on duty *Opening/Closing the store (cashwraps closing/opening, petty cash count, doors closing/opening).


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    *High school diploma or equivalent; and, *One (1) year Management experience in a high turnover bakery, café, or restaurant environment; and, experience working with outside vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

    *Supervisory role or some managerial experience a plus; *ServSafe Certified; *Fluent in Spanish a plus; *Experience with electronic cash registers, Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office software, and standard office equipment a plus.

    *Customer Service Skills: Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer needs; solicit customer feedback to improve service; respond to requests for service and assistance; meet commitments; *Interpersonal Skills: Focus on solving conflict, not blaming; maintain confidentiality; listen to others without interrupting; keep emotions under control; remain open to others' ideas and try new things; have an appreciation and respect for people of all races, genders, sexual orientation, socio-economic class, etc.; *Oral Communication: Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions; *Problem Solving Skills: Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information; develop alternative solutions; use reason even when dealing with emotional topics; *Professionalism: Ability to approach others in a tactful manner; react well under pressure; treat others with respect and consideration; accept responsibility for own actions; follow through on commitments; and *Productivity: Complete work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity.


Working Conditions

    *Retail hours: Nights, weekends, early mornings and some holidays *Must be able to close at least 2 nights out of the week *·Frequent need to lift at least fifty (50) pounds; *Ability to stand for long periods of time; *Frequent need for oral, written and auditory communication; *Frequent mobility to move about the cafe and sales floor; and *Frequent repetitive hand and wrist motions.
