Epic Long Island is Hiring an Assistant Manager/Residential Group Home Near Levittown, NY

We're HIRING an Assistant Manager in our group home in Levittown (Grassy Lane)!

Schedule is Sunday-Thursday, flexible.

Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Residence Manager, the Residence Assistant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the residential program. The Residence Assistant Manager will provide overall leadership, vision and direction in the areas of consumer services, program development, physical plant management, regulatory compliance, strategic planning and program staffing.

Essential Functions: Assist in managing the daily operation of the program to ensure its compliance with all regulations; and agency policies, procedures and standards.

§ Implement systems to ensure day-to-day smooth operations of program.

§ Ensure consumer’s individual program plans are implemented as prescribed; and protect and uphold the rights of the individuals served.

§ Provide oversight and ensure the accurate, timely and complete documentation of all required paperwork.

§ Manage the physical plant of the facility including agency vehicles.

§ Manage the purchasing of goods for the consumers and facility. Serve as the liaison between the program and the purchasing manager.

§ Manage the planning and implementation of recreation and leisure activities.

§ Manage training and staff development of employees. Ensure compliance with agency policy, state and federal regulations. Serve as liaison between program and training coordinator.

§ Manage filing system for the individuals and the employees. Ensure confidentiality and security of information.

§ Manage incidents and reporting of incidents as per agency guidelines and all regulations.

§ Serve as the liaison with other service providers including but not limited to sheltered workshops, day habilitation programs, hospitals, doctors, and Case Managers, neighbors and community contacts.

§ Serve as a contact for family members, advocates, guardians, and others who are involved with the individuals; and develop these contacts in a manner which is most beneficial to the consumers.

§ Communicate effectively with individuals served, team members, families, visitors and others.

§ Manage program within budgetary guidelines.

§ Accurately and timely complete payroll for processing; serve as liaison between payroll administrator and program.

§ Attain and maintain Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) certification; and administer medication where required.

§ Perform SCIP-R, CPR and First Aid as required.

§ Actively participate in all mandatory trainings, in-services and conferences as required; maintain certification in all mandatory trainings.

§ Inventory control of consumer and agency property.

§ Serve as manager in the absence of residence manager.

Supervisory Functions:

§ Execute and convey to staff agency and program policies and procedures.

§ Facilitate and actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and staff meetings.

§ Manage staff performance; provide on-going, effective and timely feedback to staff.

§ Directly manage at least two DSP employees.

§ Ensure all employees are effectively trained to perform their job functions, and to meet regulatory and agency standards.

§ Ensure program’s staffing needs are met and manage daily staffing schedules.

§ Manage time-off requests.

Other Functions:

§ Provide direct service to consumers as required.

· To serve as a member of the Emergency On-Call Team.

· Prepare meals as required.

· Attend to individuals’ health needs as required.

· Ensure the individual’s health and safety.

· Participate in the planning and implementation of recreational activities.

§ Provide assistance to other EFLI residences as required.

§ Drive agency vans.

§ All other duties as assigned.

education:

High School Diploma / GED, College degree in Human Service, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, or related field preferred

Certification/

Licnse: · Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License

· AMAP, CPR, SCIP-R and First Aid preferred.

Experience:

· A minimum of three years experience providing direct care support to developmental disabled individuals in an OPWDD certified program.

· Supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities.

· Detail-oriented, multi-task capable and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; and meet deadlines.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business and professional literature, technical procedures/instructions and governmental regulations.

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence

· Self-Starting and ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

· Ability to influence people and build strong relationships with individuals & co-workers.

· Ability to work in a team environment.

· Strong skills in both verbal and written communication. Able to exchange information with other people concisely and accurately.

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.

· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete and intangible variables in standardized situations.

· Ability to work flexible hours including late evenings, early mornings, overnight and weekends.

· Strong mathematical skills with the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

· PC skills—Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

· Lift and move items, equipment or otherwise weighing 30 lbs or more.

· Able to lift and transfer an adult weighing 150lbs or more.

· Work indoors in a standard, open space office environment and be in direct contact with other employees, individuals and the public.

· Enter data in the computer and operate standard office equipment.

· See and read a computer screen and written documents/correspondence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
