Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Authorization Specialist to join our team. As an Authorization Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining insurance authorizations and tracking authorization for all clients. This position requires multi-tasking, computer skills, good oral and written communication and customer service etiquette. Function as a part of the team and keep everyone apprised of the authorization situation.

Job Duties:
- Obtain insurance authorizations
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any authorization or coverage issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of authorizations and insurance information
- Collaborate with team members to ensure proper documentation and coding of procedures
- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, managed care guidelines, and medical coding practices
- Verify authorizations and follow-up on pending authorizations

-Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA Privacy Rule Regulations

-Communicate issues, info and support needs to supervisor

-Prepare and complete various reports daily

-Other duties as assigned, requested, and/or necessary

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, and billing processes
- Proficient in using office software applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Ability to analyze/solve problems and work in a fast-paced environment

- Good time management skills along with the ability to manage multiple tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
