We are hiring one (1) Full Time, Permanent Cloud Platform & Security Architect position.

This position is eligible for EPCOR’s Where We Work hybrid work program!

The Cloud Platform & Security Architect will be responsible for designing and developing EPCOR’s core cloud infrastructure platforms, with focus on Azure and Microsoft 365. This position involves collaboration with EPCOR Business Units, Security, and Cloud Operations teams to enhance our hybrid cloud-computing model in accordance with industry best practices for security and information management.

What you’d be responsible for

• Identifying necessary budget requirements for the provision of security processes and safeguards that manage risk to EPCOR information and technology.
• Identifying and account for risk during project planning and execution.
• Developing robust security controls to monitor threats and minimize risks across cloud environments.
• Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate performance metrics.
  • Meeting customer needs and expectations.
  • Operational effectiveness and efficiency (e.g. productivity, quality, reliability, on-time delivery of products)
• Ensure optimal deliverables through effective cross-functional accountability and authority practices within IS Infrastructure Architecture’s context and prescribed limits.
• Developing, implementing and reviewing IS Infrastructure Architecture processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, regulatory requirements and ensure mitigation of risks.
• Evaluating and approving changes to IS Infrastructure, with the intent of protecting the operational integrity and security of EPCOR’s IS systems.
• Leading internal initiatives to deliver new capabilities in M365, Azure, AWS, and other platforms.
• Collaborating with operations staff to support issues concerning IS Infrastructure components as a subject matter expert/Tier 3 resource.
• Collaborating with IT stakeholders to evaluate compliance, risk, security, and sustainability.
• Establishing and maintaining support channels with current and strategic vendors.
• Demonstrating a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working

What’s required to be successful

• University degree in Computing Sciences or Engineering or a relevant two-year technical diploma from a recognized technical institute.
• 10 years Information Technology experience including supporting large scale IT transformation projects.
• 3 years working with Infrastructure as Code in an enterprise environment.
• 3 years supporting hybrid/multi cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Cloud Well-Architected Frameworks, Cloud Standards, Guidelines and Practices (NIST, ISO-27017, ISO-27018, Cloud Architecture Framework, SOC).
• Experience creating presentation, and communication materials for leadership and business users.
• Deep understanding of current and emerging technology, particularly cloud technologies and practices.
• Ability to work in a team collaborating with developers, technical architects, management, and business users to plan and design cloud infrastructure and platform services.
