EnviroVantage is growing and looking for a Construction Estimator.

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate with any other contractors via phone and email to ensure accurate understanding of project scope including all necessary bid items, actual bid dates, site walk information, pre-bid submittal requirements, and projected start date
  • Strong ability to analyze blueprints, specifications, site photos, and other documents to prepare time, material, equipment, labor, and disposal cost estimates in order to deliver high quality and well thought out proposals on time
  • Present estimate and participate in internal bid reviews with Project Executives and/or EnviroVantage leadership team to collaborate on means and methods, and verify completeness prior to bid submission
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients to increase bid opportunities and fluency of information on follow-ups regarding active project opportunities during the pre-construction stage
  • Develop and build relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive pricing
  • Work closely with Project Management and project executive team on handoffs for won jobs to ensure estimating methodology and all project knowledge is transferred appropriately to the operations team
  • Work closely with the Pre-construction coordinator to have a strong understanding of workload within the entire Estimating department and be a strong team player ready and willing to assist other estimators as needed

Experience/Education:

  • 5 years of combined cost estimating experience in various construction trades, demolition, and environmental remediation; including reading and understanding various construction documents such as but not limited to project scopes of work, blueprints, site drawings, photos, as-built's, geotechnical surveys and hazardous building material surveys required
  • Experience estimating both select interior and structural demolition required
  • Advanced knowledge of construction principles and heavy equipment capabilities required
  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook,) required
  • Strong working relationship with environmental engineering firms and general contractors preferred
  • Experience with estimating demolition and environmental projects preferred
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam preferred

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Typical office activities
  • Walking, sitting, standing, bending
  • Using hands to operate objects, computers and other electronic equipment
  • Lifting/handling computers and related equipment (typically not more than 25 pounds)
  • Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus
  • Moderate noise level
