Job Title: Capex Project Manager

Operating Company: Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) – Heil Environmental and Marathon plant

Location: Fort Payne, AL

Reports to: Senior Director, Advanced Manufacturing, Quality & Continuous Improvement

Department: Operations


POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for planning, budgeting, overseeing, documenting, and communicating various aspects of manufacture, service and installation projects. This position relies on excellent verbal and electronic communication skills to coordinate activities, schedule resources, and identify and resolve project issues as they arise. This position will develop detailed timelines, activities, and tasks and hold team members accountable for performing the required responsibilities for on-target execution of projects. This position is responsible for the reporting of the project status to both internal stakeholders and customers reliably. Qualified candidates must have large scale project management experience with an engineering mindset and ability to read blueprints and CAD drawings and ability to use AutoCAD and SolidWorks.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Work with the customer and internal resources (Product Management, Sales, Operations) to fully document and understand the objectives of a project/pilot. This includes both the technical and logistical requirements.
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of service and manufacturing/installation projects, including budgeting, timing, and resource allocation.
  • Communicates both verbally and electronically to internal stake holders and external customers the status, issues, resolutions, and activities of projects.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed MS project plan to achieve the goals of each project. The plan should be inclusive of all tasks needed to meet the goals with assigned owners and timings.
  • Be the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Schedule and run reoccurring status meetings with all involved parties (Launch team) and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the success of the project.
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
  • Develops and improves processes for the Service department as needed to reduce variability and manage activities.
  • As needed support other departments in costing and pricing analysis.
  • Provide assistance to Finance and Accounting department with monthly financial closings as requested.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years experience needed in Project Management and or waste industries deploying customer-based solutions.
  • Have a strong technical background in the waste disposal and hauling industry. The projects will be highly technical in nature and the candidate must be able to understand the concepts and clearly communicate them to the customer and team.
  • Ability to grasp new features/concepts quickly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work towards a goal with minimal oversight from leadership.
  • Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
  • Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
  • Understand ethical behavior and business practices and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others are consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS project management software.
  • High level of integrity, strong initiative, ability to get agreement/buy-in, and a team-oriented work ethic.
  • Solid analytics and understanding of financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced matrix environment, multi-task and prioritize work based on business needs.
  • Ability to travel domestically 10-15% of time for assessing suppliers, training and capital equipment and automation cell reviews and buy off at vendor locations.
