Project Overview:
The Project will be developed as an open-pit mining operation using conventional, continuous mining equipment. Given the soft, clay nature of the deposit, minimal blasting and crushing are anticipated. The ore will then be processed in a leaching circuit using sulfuric acid to liberate the lithium from the claystone. Following the leaching process, the lithium-bearing solution will be purified using crystallizers and reagents to produce battery-quality Li2CO3.
Position Summary: We are looking for an Electrical Designer for the Mining & Metals team. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of design on a project. The Electrical Designer will be expected to know industry standards and codes, accepted design practices, and quality standards for a global business unit.
Responsibilities:
Directly performing or administering work of designers and drafters of a design group for a business line technology, including the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings.
Preparing or assisting with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
Monitoring and checking work for compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
Preparing design and drafting procedures to standardize design efforts.
Coordinating or making job site visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
Reviewing or defining engineering scope changes, as required, for project management.
Endorsing or preparing reports of work progress, as required, for project and discipline use.
Maintaining up-to-date skills in company standard computer applications relevant to design work and ensuring that maximum use is made thereof.

There will be some telework required for this position.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or scientific discipline.
AND
Specialized courses in drafting, design, and engineering practices.
OR
Extensive experience in design and drafting.
Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline’s design responsibilities.
Knowledge of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes relevant to the discipline.
Knowledge of Discipline Design Guides, mathematical formulae, and design calculations used in the discipline.
Knowledge of technical responsibilities of other groups associated with the total design effort.
Knowledge of procedures used for the procurement and quantity control of bulk materials applicable to the discipline.
