Responsibilities

• Maintain the highest standards of animal care and welfare for laboratory rodents.

• Strictly adhere to BPS Standard Operating Procedures.

• Perform daily welfare checks of laboratory rodents.

• Handling and restraining of laboratory rodents.

• Inoculate and administer doses to animals.

• Collect tissues or biological samples from animal by various sterile techniques.

• Perform clinical observation and collect data according to SOP’s

• Clean and disinfect rooms and equipment according to BPS guidelines.

• Maintain routine supplies at adequate levels.

• Communicate with Group Leader and/or Supervisor when any deviation from established procedures or routines occurs.

• Work at a fast paced environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Must be able to follow verbal instructions and written Standard Operating Procedures.

· Must have manual dexterity to handle animals and perform procedures with care.

· Must be able to accurately complete records in compliance with cGMP guidelines.

· Must be observant and pay attention to detail.

· Must be dependable, punctual and available for weekend work and overtime as necessary.

· Science background and experience with animal handling is preferred.
