*Remote with travel to New York required* Job Summary: Civil Structural Substation Owner’s Engineer (OE) is required to provide civil/structural engineering support to Client projects who are developing or modifying electrical substations W hat You’ll Do: Develop design documents requested by the Client and will also review documents prepared by engineering consultants, equipment suppliers and client staff such as: Site grading plan, erosion and sediment plan, drainage plan Rigid bus structural analysis Steel structure calculations and fabrication drawings Concrete foundation calculations and drawings Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university. 15 years of experience in the civil/structural design of 115kV and 345kV electrical substations. Understanding of transmission line design as it relates to substation dead-end structure and foundation design. Working knowledge of the provisions and intents of local and national design codes and standards, building codes, OSHA safety regulations, and utility FERC, NERC, and CIP standards as applicable. Experience with software such as RISA, STAAD, LPILE, Mathcad, etc. commonly used in substation civil/structural design. Understanding of substation electrical equipment and materials/components and their functionality. Not quite right for you?
