Enthusiast Gaming is Hiring a Remote Full Stack Engineer

Enthusiast Gaming is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our team! Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for a set of EG owned and operated websites. An immediate action item will be building out a CMS for icy-veins.com, and overall improvement of the site.

This role is remote, we are open to candidates in the Eastern United States or Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of technical deliverables for Icy-veins.com, and several partner sites
  • Work within a larger team with the responsibility to build out an industry standard CMS in Laravel/PHP, Vue, and JavaScript
  • Develop new features and infrastructure development in support project requirements
  • Assume leadership of new projects working closely with the product group, from conceptualization to deployment
  • Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
  • Work with agile development methodologies, adhering to best practices and pursuing continued learning opportunities
  • Participate in all aspects of agile web development including design, implementation, and deployment
  • Maintain legacy code base where necessary, Ruby/SVN based system

Education & Experience:

  • 3 years experience with Laravel / PHP developer including Vue experience
  • 2 years experience with Native JavaScript experience is considered an asset
  • 2 years experience utilizing RDBMS including SQL (using mysql) and scale out architecture options
  • Experience with SVN and GIT
  • Experience working in agile / scrum environment and use of git and gitflow
  • Ruby experience an asset
  • Understanding of ecommerce and subscription systems such as Braintree is an asset
  • Experience with Xenforo, Invision Power Board or other forum software is a big plus

  • Pro-active thinker who anticipates needs and plans according
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas within the team and to multiple stakeholders across the business
  • Love for gaming (WoW enthusiast) or desire to work with a bunch of really cool, humble people who love gaming
