ENTERPRISE STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE is Hiring a Bus Driver Near Enterprise, AL

Position Summary

The Bus Driver is primarily responsible for the proper care and maintenance of buses and for the safety of all passengers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely transport passengers from campus to various locations and safely return to campus.
  • Prior to departure, check tire pressure, fluid levels, gasoline level. Check cleanliness of vehicle.
  • Upon returning, remove trash from inside the buses and complete travel form.

  • Report any maintenance issues immediately to the Chief of Campus Police.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • One year CDL driving experience preferred
  • Valid/Unexpired CDL License with a Passenger (P) endorsement
  • Current physical and ability to maintain a current physical on file
  • Must be insurable
Other Special Qualifications/Requirements of the Job
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as needed.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications as indicated on this vacancy notice and must submit a completed online application packet in order to be considered for this position. A complete application packet consists of:

1) Completed ESCC application for employment

2) Valid/unexpired CDL License with a Passenger (P) endorsement

3) Verification of experience to equal the required years for the position included above.

(Verification of experience should be on company letterhead or form and include the applicants name, title, dates of employment, and job duties and responsibilities while employed. All letters must be dated and include an original signature of authorized personnel. If an employment verification cannot be obtained due to a legitimate reason, an applicant may submit copies of other trustworthy documentation such as appointment letters, contracts, pay stubs, or W-2 forms documenting the term of employment)

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and education as determined on Enterprise State Community College Local Salary Schedule L, at a rate of $15.60 per hour, $156 per day if over 8 hours plus per diem ($12.75 for 6-12 hours and $34.00 for 12-23 hours). Trips requiring overnight stay will be at the rate of $208 plus per diem. Drivers are eligible to work up to 29 hours per week.


Employment is contingent upon employer verification of work experience. Only applicants who meet the required qualifications and submit a complete application packet by the deadline will be considered.

The candidate hired will be responsible for the nonrefundable minimum cost of $17.40 for the criminal background investigation. Additional charges may apply.
