Licensed Electrician
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Shop Manager, the labor hand is responsible for safely performing all job aspects in connection with the setup and maintenance of electrical infrastructure.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform all daily, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual compliance inspections as required.
· Report any and all compliance failures to supervisor.
· Execute plans of electrical wiring for warehouse, offices, equipment and other electrical systems.
· Install electrical apparatus, fixtures, safety and distribution components (switches, circuit-breaker panels, etc.)
· Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them.
· Prevent breakdowns of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
· Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
· Ensure to follow Company/Terminal Policies and Procedures when accessing or working in the Terminal.
· Keeping track of inventory used/needed to complete job, requesting components as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· HS Diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
· Good communication skills.
· Ability to work varied hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnight shifts required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand, walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk with alternate standing. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a dry, sometimes dusty warehouse environment as well as outside elements
