Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment and upkeep to the facilities. This position will require experience working in a manufacturing or production environment and familiarity with a variety of industrial machinery. Leading a team of maintenance technicians and working with other department leaders will require high communication skills, technical knowledge and organizational skills. Training of the maintenance technicians will be a key factor in managing the availability of production equipment and preventing unexpected downtime. The goal is to ensure that our production equipment and facilities are properly maintained and repaired in a timely and efficient manner. Use of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document and manage resources for these activities will foster continual improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign work to maintenance technicians and maintenance associate and machinists, considering such factors as workload, skills of employees, and equipment availability.
• Review open work request and work orders to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
• Monitor work order times and materials for proper cost of repairs reports.
• Oversee asset spares inventories and preventative maintenance procedures are accurately documented in the CMMS system and on-hand quantities are available.
• Ensure new or reassigned employees are properly trained in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Ensure maintenance technicians, maintenance associate and machinists at EI Machine have current technical and safety training from internal and external trainers.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, or other requirements.
• Ensure maintenance technicians follow safety, PPE and company policies while performing repairs.
• Review completed work to verify equipment safety systems are working properly.
• Recommend measures to improve productivity, minimize downtime, and reduce waste.
• Investigate root cause failure and recommend changes to prevent future occurrences.
• Provide technical support and assistance to maintenance technicians, associate, and machinists.
• Trouble shoot equipment using software tools for PLCs, motor drives and misc controllers.
• Monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) for alarms and operating conditions.
• Requisition tools, equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Develop or revise maintenance procedures and schedules in consultation with Safety, production and engineering personnel.
• Conduct employee performance reviews and skills assessments.
• Confer with management, vendors, and others to resolve problems.
• Perform or oversee the preventive maintenance of machines and equipment.
• Anything else deemed necessary by management.
• Occasional travel when required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Strictly abide by safety procedures, PPE and company policies when performing work
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with attention to detail
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).

· Must be able to perform work duties safely and proactively to avoid injuries and accidents.

· Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, specifications, codes, electrical formulas, and handbooks.

· Knowledge of the principles of electricity, hydraulics, mechanical systems, pneumatics, plumbing, pipe fitting, welding and fabrication.

· Working knowledge of PLC ladder logic and motor drive parameterization

· Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding service environment.

· Ability to communicate with internal customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner.

· Detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.

· Possess a sense of urgency in when performing work duties.

· Good time management and effective use of idle time.

· Must be able to lift, twist and work in sitting, squatting, standing and elevated positions for extended periods of time.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Technical or associate degree in related field
• Leadership training or certification
• Safety training or certification
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications used for compiling data and work records.
